Governor's Judicial Appointment Authority
Pursuant to Section 35-2-2, NMSA 1978, the Governor shall fill vacancies in the office of the magistrate by appointment of persons who possess the personal qualifications established by law to serve until the next general election. Accordingly, below is a link for the Governor's Office magistrate application and a consent form for background checks.
